Success StoriesTaking share trading around the country in a caravanDianne R's Share Trading Story, April 2008Since her husband’s retirement nearly 12 months ago, Dianne R has embarked on a new adventure, combining her passion for travel and enthusiasm for trading the stock market. “We have upgraded the caravan to accommodate the extra space for the computer and paperwork required for trading. I now have a transportable share trading business so I can enjoy travelling with my husband while continuing to trade,” said Dianne. Dianne joined HomeTrader in June 2007 with very little share market trading experience. After attending the HomeTrader training courses and developing her own system to trade fully paid ordinary shares (FPOs), Diane placed her first order at the end of August 2007. By November of the same year she was also trading Contracts for Difference (CFDs). “Controlling the emotion that you feel when trading is my biggest challenge, despite the fact that I have a system which states exactly which shares to buy and when to sell them. My husband and I are a good balance for each other when I am tempted to stray from my system. Between us we stick to our system which is essential to making money on the stock market,” said Dianne. About twelve months ago 48-year-old Dianne set up a self managed super fund and is determined to see her share trading profit supplement her income and grow her superannuation. “Trading the stock market using a system which stipulates which stocks to buy and sell at a particular price, has provided me with the ability to make money without spending hours doing it. While the initial training required patience and perseverance, the actual management of my trading responsibilities each day is minimal. A couple of hours a day trading and managing the paperwork is ideal given we are travelling a lot,” said Dianne. Share trading has offered Dianne the freedom to spend plenty of time in the garden and also travel. Their next trip in July will take them to Darwin and then following the West Australian coast for a three month adventure.
