To be successful in online trading you have to be smarter
than the average bear. But despite the dangers and pitfalls, there are
investors who make their living through online trading and by staying one step
ahead of the sharemarket.
Among them is Hamish Thompson, a 46-year-old form farmer and
businessman in Bathurst
in the central west of NSW. In seven years, he has gone from losing thousands
of dollars through share trading, to managing a $1.6 million fund, which he
says returned 32 percent in the past 6 months.
Thomson cites “education and patience” for helping to turn
his trading results around after an initial period of being gullible and
trusting what the so-called experts said about how to make a buck.
“Good traders need to pay attention to detail and approach
trading like a business,” he says.
“Traders need to make sure they take enough time to learn
and understand what they are doing. Investing time will pay dividends later.”
